I am an applied mathematician, and I joined the faculty of the Statistics Department at University of Chicago in January 2016, where I contribute to the Computational and Applied Mathematics Initiative (CAMI). Before coming here, I was a professor in the Department of Engineering Sciences and Applied Mathematics at Northwestern University for more than 20 years.

 
• December, 2016: PhD Program in Computational and Applied Mathematics: The newly-established Committee on Computational and Applied Mathematics at the University of Chicago is now accepting applications for fall 2017.
  
  
• November, 2016: Graduate Student Karna Gowda is awarded a McDonnell Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship in Complex Systems to conduct research on "Evolving communities: how adaptation shapes microbial interactions", a future move from dryland ecology to microbial ecology.
