Grades for Statistics 200
These notes supplement the general information on the Grading System in the
Time Schedule.
- The P/N grade is available to any undergraduate student.
A request for a P/N grade must be made within the first two weeks of
the quarter, and the student must have written permission from his/her
advisor. A student's performance in the course will be evaluated without
consideration of a request for a P/N grade. Ordinarily, a P
will correspond to a standard grade of A, B, or C, and an N will
correspond to a grade of D or F. The P/N grade is not available to
graduate students.
- An undergraduate student may request a W grade at any date
before the final examination.
- A grade of R will be given to any student who arranges for it
before the third week of a quarter. Undergraduate students must
arrange for an R with the Dean of Undergraduate Students or the
College Advisor. Graduate students must arrange an R by written request to
the instructor.
- Requests for a grade of I will be granted only in case of serious
illness or other major emergency. An undergraduate requesting an I
must submit standard form signed by the student's advisor. For any student
requesting an I, a form must be completed stating what the student
needs to do to complete the work of the course and by what date (normally
within one quarter).
